10 Apples

A priest in Florida was giving a sermon and had 10 apples lined up. He explained that each apple represented something that they should be thankful for. The first apple was to their health - being able to walk, see or touch. The second apple represented their friends, family members and all those who have touched their lives. When the priest came to the tenth apple he said, "And this is the one apple that God wants you to give back. He only wants you to give back 10% of what you have. But here is the problem."

He then began to eat the apple, as the church goers sat in a confused state. The priest then crunched the apple into the microphone for 2 minutes. He then put what was left of the apple, back on the shelf. The priest continued. "The problem is, most people only give back what they would normally throw away."

"We make a living by what we get. But we make a life by what we give."

If you are happy, then notify your face

Your presence alone should bring peace and joy into a room. The way you live your life speaks to others. People are watching the way you live. Do you draw people to you, or do you push people away? Are you consistently happy? Are you consistently friendly? Does the room brighten when you walk in? Remember, it's the smile that turns the bulb on.

It's sad to say, but for some people, you can't wait for them to leave. They are always discouraged, always have a problem or a sad story. These people bring tension into the room.

People should be inspired by your presence because they see so much peace, so much stability and so much victory. Others should be drawn to us like a magnet.

Yes, we could all find something negative to get down about, but it's your choice.

"By the way you live your life, should make other people want what you have."

Your true character, when no one is watching

A king hired a carpenter to build houses for his subjects and the king was very pleased with his work. The carpenter soon became wealthy from the king's generous fees. One day the carpenter thought, "The king is giving me great pay, yet I am the only one who knows the quality of the materials I use. I can make more money, if the outside of the house looks beautiful, and use materials on the inside of the house that don't cost as much."

As he had anticipated (though no one knew he was cutting corners), his scam was starting to make him wealthy. The King asked, "Build the finest house you can ever build and spare no expense." Here is a chance for the carpenter to make a huge profit. The carpenter used second-rate materials and sloppy workmanship. After he finished, the King paid him as if he had done a first-rate job. The King then said, "And now, I give this house to you, as a gift for all you have done."

It's not just about Information

Don't you get tired of people telling you what you should and shouldn't do? Are you a parent or friend who continues to give advice to those you love? Do you know how to give advice? Do you get upset when others don't take your advice? Here is the secret- It's not about the information. It's about the Inspiration.

This family had the dirtiest house on the block. Neighbors implored the family to clean up their property, but to no avail.

One summer day a friend of the family gave them a flower bulb and asked them to plant it under their window, as a gesture of friendship. By the next spring, a little green shoot pushed its way to the surface and soon a yellow flower unfolded. As the family sat in their front room, the wife said, "Wow, that flower is so beautiful, I think I'll clean the window so we can get a better look at it." Inspiration is the key to giving information.

After she had washed the windows, she noticed her curtains looked grungy. So she washed them as well. The husband noticed that the clean curtains didn't go with the dirty walls, so he painted them. He also went on to paint the outside of the house. After his hard work, he decided to spruce up the yard so the house would look nice.

Information without Inspiration equals nothing. I-I= O

80% is hard, 100% is easy

Special Hello to a person that is feeling the fear and doing it anyway, Andrea Aker.

How do you get where you want to be?

Procrastination may lie between 80% and 100%. This is where people stop climbing. They are almost to the top, but think they have worked hard enough and just camp there. If you're committed to something 80%, you're going to have a difficult time accomplishing what it is you're setting out to do. In order to get where you want to be you must do what you have never done, which might be making a 100% commitment.

Don't do what you think your best is. Do Whatever It Takes!

You cannot change what you tolerate

Dedicated to the Greatest Basketball Coach of all time, John Wooden - "When facing adversity, my father practiced 3 things:"
Don't Whine
Don't Complain
Don't Make Excuses

A dog owner was sitting on his porch with his dog. Every few minutes the dog would whine and cry. The owner didn't seemed to be concerned. He just kept rocking in his chair and reading his book. A man walked by and said, "Why is the dog whining." The owner answered, "Because he is sitting on a nail." The man said, "Then why doesn't he move?" The owner replied, "Because it's not hurting bad enough."

Aren't you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Are you or do you know someone who is constantly complaining about their job, relationship or some aspect of their life? They spend more energy and time on venting about it instead of changing it. It's up to you. In order to change your circumstances, you must change your attitude.

It's your decision

John was very bitter after being stricken with cancer. He was brought to the hospital where he shared a room with the most uplifting person he had ever met. No matter who came to visit, John could only focus on his disease. John constantly complained about it and just could not see past it. Every morning, the man sharing the room with John would look out the window and share with John all the beautiful things that he saw. He would see children playing in the park on a beautiful sunny day. After it rained, the man would see beautiful rainbows. He would start out each morning by informing John of how beautiful life was.

After a few weeks, this man's positive attitude started to rub off on John. John's cancer was slowly leaving his body and everything was looking great for him.

One morning John woke up and the man was no longer there. So John asked to be moved over to the window. As they moved him to the window, John became irate. He looked out the window and discovered a view of a brick wall. John began to demand answers from the nurses. The nurse said, "Oh didn't you know. "That man died of cancer and couldn't see. He was blind. He was picturing all those beautiful things in his mind."

Are you in the 10%?

"Never give up." "It ain't over til it's over." "Never say die". Yes, we have heard these phrases many times. Perhaps too many. But which one are you actually living by? Let me give you some proof as to why we keep hearing these phrases over and over again.

Which type of person are you?
25% avoid problems
50% cope with problems (work 9 to 5 and can't wait til it's Friday)
15% problem solvers (electricians, lawyers, doctors= lead a good life)
10% problem seekers (Einstein, Edison, Gates= they change the way we live life)

If you had all the money in the world, what would you do with your time? Do it anyway. Don't let feedback hold you back.

Are you contributing to your successful journey, or waiting to be successful?

Are you stuck in a LOOP?

Curiosity, Confidence, Enthusiasm, Desire. Remember that little child inside you that possessed all of these qualities? Here is the secret. That little child still exists. Those qualities still exist inside of you. Why are you holding onto it? Let it out! Let it go!

As a child, the little voice in our minds allowed us to be confident and Go All Out for what we wanted at that moment. But as each year passed, we allowed other people to effect that little voice. That voice became poisoned by other people's perceptions.

Stop living a lie.

Do we spend too much time interested in other peoples' lives just because they are on t.v.? Do you know anyone who loves to read People Magazine? Do you know someone who thinks others' lives on t.v. are more interesting than their own? Why do we spend so much time trying to find out about celebrities' lives instead of living out the moments of our own? If I asked you, "Who is the most important person in the world?" What would your answer be?

This country seems to be more interested in the celebrities of the world than the celebrity within. We all have this superstar quality within us. Where is your focus? Is it on others or on your destiny? Is your focus on your journey of life? Is your focus on living each moment to its fullest? Is your focus on practicing to be a better person? Is your focus on being the best that you can be?

Otherwise you are just cheating yourself out of being the person that you desire to be. Everything you want in life is waiting to be captured.

Stop lying to yourself because YOU are the most important person in this world.

27, 375 days

Can you believe how old you are? Why is it life travels very fast and some of us refuse to do something about it? The moment is now and what you do with it will determine your destiny. The average person only lives for 27, 375 days. Some people spend their whole lives waiting for something to happen. It's up to you to make it happen.

I may never see tomorrow, there is no written guarantee,
and things that happened yesterday belong to history.

I cannot predict the future, I cannot change the past,
I have only this present moment, I must treat it as my last.

What is your deepest fear?

Are you living in the light? - Gratitude, Joy, Happiness, Appreciation, Delighted, Ecstatic, at Peace, Thrilled, Pleasant, Shared Laughter. Or are you living in the darkness? - Fear, Frustration, Uncertainty, Doubt.

How do you get others to be themselves? Take away their fears by the life that you live.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. You playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that others won't feel insecure around. We were all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear. Our presence automatically liberates others." ~Marianne Williamson

Dedicated to a person who is there for me throughout my adventurous journey of life~ My DAD.

God answered...

The past is the past

Nikki Cruz was born to a Satan worshiping family. He had 17 brothers and sisters. At age 3 his mother proclaimed him to be the son of the devil. At age 15 him and his best friend moved to NYC and Nikki became a leader of a street gang. At age 16 his best friend was stabbed and killed. A priest at a near by church tried to speak with Nikki about his poor lifestyle and invited him to mass that night. Nikki became very enraged and walked away. Nikki gathered his street gang and at 7:00 that night, they all showed up to mass looking to cause problems. As they walked in, the pastor's sermon was based on Jesus saving us all. Nikki never knew who Jesus was. He told his gang members to wait outside. Nikki was so inspired by the sermon, that he spoke with the priest after the mass and actually started turning his life around.

Nikki Cruz now travels the world as a motivational speaker, touching others lives with his incredible story.

Making Memories

How do you make memories? Are you constantly looking to make a memory or to just get through the day? Some people just go through the motions in life and rely on others to make life interesting. Memories happen 2 ways. You are either making memories or waiting for them to happen. Why don't you try to step outside your comfort zone today? Excitement, adventure and opportunity are living outside your comfort zone box. So, why are you living on the inside?

If you're not making memories, then what are you doing?

What keeps you in your Comfort Zone?

How do you experience a tremendous triumph? By feeling the Fear and doing it anyway. What are you afraid of? Remember Fear- False Expectations Appearing Real. Fear is just made up in our minds. We think it and then we feel it. Change your thoughts and your feelings will change.

If you're in a comfort zone afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true,
Reach for the future with a smile, success is there for you.

Comfort Zone Breaker

Ok, so you don't feel like breaking out of your comfort zone. But here is the secret: You don't have to act how you feel. Do you always feel like going to work? No, but you go anyway. The key is, you don't have to feel it in order to do it.

"Start the motion and your emotions will follow." ~Dr. Rob Gilbert

I couldn't let my life go by just watching others win,
I held my breath, stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.

Breaking out of your Comfort Zone

Are you excited about the life you chose for yourself? Do you respond by saying "Nothing" when someone asks you, "So what's going on?" If nothing exciting is happening in your life, Then change it! We should always have a great response to that question. How? By doing something you've never done. No matter what it is. Get interested in something new. Learn how to draw. Take up a musical instrument that you've always wanted to play. Here is How? Get started NOW!

"Procrastinate Procrastination." ~Dr. Rob Gilbert

I said it didn't matter that I wasn't doing much,
I said I didn't care for things like commission checks and such.

I claimed to be so busy with things inside my zone,
but deep inside I longed for something special of my own.

Comfort Zone

Are you cool? If you're in school, at work, or in any type of environment; are you part of the "in" crowd? While in school, isn't it important for others to think you're cool? Wherever you go, don't you want people to think that you fit in with everyone else? Do we spend our whole lives trying to fit in?

Cool is neither hot nor cold, it is somewhere in the middle. Cool gives you no chance of living on the edge and just going for it. See, most people don't go for it. They have to be cool and fit in with the crowd. Are you just another face in the crowd?

If you want to be an individual then start acting like one. Individual- a single human being, as distinguished from a group. In order to rise higher, you must step out from where you are.

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn't fail,
the same four walls and busy work were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do things that I'd never done before,
but I stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

"Cool is living up to someone else's view of who you should be."

Perception is Power

The more you complain, the more opportunity you waste. Are you around people who complain all the time? When we complain, maybe it's because we are looking at the wrong side of things. When you complain about something, there is an opportunity to learn how to deal with the issue. Or maybe your perception is wrong.

A large shoe company sent 2 reps out to different parts of Australia to see if they could start a new business with the Aborgines. 1 rep sent a message back saying, "Waste of time, no business here. Aborigines don't wear shoes."

The other rep sent a message back that said, "Send more troops. Great business opportunity here. Aborigines don't wear shoes!

We all loved to play in the rain. Mud baths use to be fun. Snow was enjoyable. Some see the glass half empty and cry over spilled milk. Others see the glass half full and clean up the spill.

What Motivates you?

How many times a day do you remind yourself of all those things that you wish you were doing? It is the start that stops most people. Desire can't be given it must be created.

Most folks don't know how fast they can swim,
until there are sharks pursuing them.

But the one who succeeds in life's great race,
is the one who wisely sets the pace.

Their pace is not set as fear requires;
their stroke is a result of their desire.

As you're faced with the ocean of decision,
are you guided by fear or by vision?

Have you set your goals? Are you trying to reach high marks?
Or are you still waiting to see the sharks?

This will happen to you today

As some point today you are going to want to do this. For some of you it will be when problems arise. When stress weighs you down a bit today, you are going to think about it. Once you do it once, it will be easy to do it all the time. Sometime today you will want to Quit. But before you do, read this:

In his book "The Joy of Failure," Wayne Allyn Root states:
Failure and rejection aren't bad. They are empowering. They cannot be avoided. To accomplish anything worth accomplishing, you've got to experience some pain along the way. To succeed, to thrive, to live the life of your dreams, you must risk failure and rejection, and then keep going. That's why so many individuals never get to experience the sweet smell of success, because first you must be willing to experience the joy of failure. Without pain, there is no gain. Without risk, there is no reward.

Breaking out of the Rat Race

Comfort Zones create boredom- the more predictable you are the more boring you become.

Psychologist Experiment:
He put a rat at one end of the maze and a piece of food at the other. The rat took a little while to get to the other side of the maze, but eventually found the food. Each day the rat became faster and in a short while, the rat was soaring through the maze. The psychologist then took the food away. The rat still zipped through, but found no food. Each day the rat went slower and slower until eventually it stopped trying to get through the maze at all.

The psychologist concluded, "That's the difference between rats and people. The rats know when to stop."

Aren't you tired of doing the same thing every day? How do you get your energy up when it's down? As soon as you are done reading this blog- Set new goals for yourself! Take a risk! The best way to follow through on your goal is to tell someone about it. Send me a comment on what risk you will take today and I will follow up with you in a week.

What is in Your Way?

What have you always wanted to do but always found an excuse not to?

At 10 years old she was stricken with polio and had to wear heavy braces and use crutches. She refused to accept this as her final fate. Her parents took her to a swimming instructor (Jack Cody), in hopes of being able to build up her leg muscles. She was determined to rebuild her leg strength. It took one year before she swam the length of the pool. She loved it so much she continued to swim.

Four years after her illness in Santa Barbara , California, she did the unthinkable and captured third place in a swim meet. With all the determination in the world and all her unrelenting struggles, at age 19 Nancy Merki became a National Champion. She set the 1500 meter freestyle swim record.

When asked by President Roosevelt how she had become a champ despite her paralysis, she simply said, "I just kept trying."

Can you do a little more each day than you think you possibly can?

When we say the words “I can’t“. Aren’t we really saying “I don’t want to" or “I don’t feel like it"? OK, If you think you are working hard enough, let me share a story with you about the hardest working College Team in the history of Sports.

1899 The University of the Sewannee Football Squad:
They were undefeated and had 5 games left to play in 6 days against 5 of the top teams in the nation, in 5 different cities. Sewannee defeated Texas University 12-0 in the first game. Then the next day they beat up Texas A&M 32-0. The third game they shut out Tulane 23-0. The fourth day was Sunday, so they took a day off. But the next day they beat undefeated Louisiana State University 34-0. The following day they shut out Mississippi State 12-0.

WOW! 5 games in 6 days and not one team scored a point against them. That is impressive.
Oh I left something out: At that time in 1899, they had to travel each day by horse and wagon. By the way, the team only had 11 players.

How to dream and believe.

Foresight- "The Future" It's about destination and determination; the sight that allows you to see down the road and believe that what you see is possible.

May 2007 Quote

Why are quotes so great to hear? Because not enough people use them. Once you start believing in and using a quote to get ahead in life, it's no longer just a quote, it becomes a way of life.

Younger brother was a go getter. He was so enthusiastic about every challenge in life. The younger brother had this great idea. He said to his older brother, "Lets open up an Italian Restaurant." His older brother agreed. Well many months later, they went out of business. The younger brother believed that once one door closes another one opens. So he said to his older brother, "Lets open up another one; different location, different platters." After some convincing, the older brother finally agreed. Well after so many months, the same thing happened. They went out of business. So the enthusiastic younger brother said, "I have a better idea." The older brother said, "I don't want to hear it."

So the younger brother opened his own business and just sold pizzas. Years later, he came up with the slogan "We will deliver your pizza in 30 minutes or less." Get it yet? That is how Dominos Pizza came about.
