Are you for real?

Reality is your perception of what you think something is. The mind is the slayer of the real. Have you ever noticed when you wake up out of a dream, you think it just happened.

"Your mind doesn't know the difference between reality and fantasy. It only knows what you tell it."

Are you Stressed?

Ever notice the things you don't want to change continue to change and the things you need to change, stay the same. Here is the secret. Change your perception. In order to change what is happening, you need to accept where you are. Do you continue to get upset over things you cannot change?

5 Things you cannot change
1. Getting older
2. Life is not fair
3. Life is a struggle
4. Some people will never like you
5. Change is inevitable

The Serenity Prayer: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

BURIED TREASURE

By now you should know where to find the most valuable buried treasure. The cemeteries throughout the world. We all have hopes and dreams. What are you doing about them today?

Take Action:
Desire is like a treasure map.
Knowledge is like a treasure chest.
Wisdom is the chest full of jewels.
BUT... WITHOUT ACTION THEY ALL STAY BURIED.

"You don't have to get it right. You just have to get it going."

Got Values?

You don't have to agree with the Dalai Lama's philosophy of life. But do you understand what values you choose to live by? Do you like those values? Sometimes we need to see those values before we can change them.

The Dalai Lama's philosophy of life (continued):
16. Be gentle with the earth.
17. Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
18. Remember that the best relationship is one, in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
19. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
20. Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.

"Show me a man who cannot bother with the little things and I'll show you a man who cannot be trusted with the big things."

Today you will have an opportunity get offended

What are you going to do about it?

Today you will have thousands of opportunities to be offended. You see, when someone is trying to offend you, sometimes that is the bait. Once you get offended, that means you have taken the bait and they have now pulled you into their world. Those who get offended by another person have been taken captive by this person. You've allowed this person to take control over your emotions.

You have 2 choices
Are you going to get Bitter or Better?

If you get Bitter- you allow others to control how whether or not you will enjoy today. Bitterness means you have let others distract you from the life that you should be excited to live.

If you get Better- When someone tries to be a negative influence in your life, you will take this opportunity to be a positive influence in their life.

"Your reactions to their actions reveals your character in action."

"This is my last day of being offended by somebody who probably doesn't even know what they are doing." ~ Joyce Meyer

It's not personal

If someone offends you, it's not personal. It's just a challenge to your personality. If you respond by becoming bitter and hostile towards them, than aren't you just like them? Sometimes we feel that if someone hurts us then we are allowed to hurt them. People who have that type of personality seem to be always looking for an argument. Will you provide that negative environment for them or will you be the kind of positive interruption in their life that you would wish to have in yours?

What's your philosphy of life?

Your philosophy of life should bring you to places that will inspire others and gain their respect. They should describe the way you actually live your life. People are people watchers. Your philosophy of life will reflect the values that you have as long as you're LIVING those values.

Dalai Lama continued values of life:

11. Live a good, honorable life. Then, when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.
12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
13. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation.
14. Don't bring up the past.
15. Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve your immortality.

What will you paint today?

It's your life. You are holding the paint brush. You can design your life to be whatever you would like it to be. It's your choice.

"You select the colors of your thoughts; drab or bright, weak or strong, good or bad.
You select the colors of your actions; cold or warm, fearful or daring, small or big.

Through your creative imagination you create a vision- your dream.
Each moment of your life is a brush stroke in the painting of your own career.
The little touches are the ones that add the stamp of character." ~Wilfred Peterson

What will you paint today? Don't just paint it, make it a Masterpiece.

Stress keeps you from your Best

The Main Rule of Relaxation:
It's not what's happening around you. It's not what's happening to you.
IT'S WHAT'S HAPPENING INSIDE YOU.

Did you know that the world's greatest tranquilizers are already inside you?
Example:
What causes Stress?
Answer: FFUD- Fear Frustration Uncertainty Doubt.
What causes these symptoms?
Answer: Our Thoughts. Your thoughts will decide how you handle adversity. Your thoughts will keep you going or it will keep you right where you are.

Are you living in the SHADOWLAND OF HOPE?

What are you waiting for? Get back in the game. Most people stay on the side lines. Why? Because they have been effected by the fear of failure.

"I wasn't going to be one of those people who died wondering "what if"? I would keep putting my dreams to the test-even if it meant living with uncertainty and fear of failure. This is the Shadowland of Hope and anyone with a dream must learn to live there." ~Alex Haley

Are you a Hypocrite?

Hypocrites are those who make up the rules as they go. What are your rules of life? Yes they can be altered, but we all have certain values that we follow.

Dalai Lama continued values of life:
6. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
7. When you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
8. Spend some time alone everyday.
9. Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

What is your philosophy of life?

A basketball coach was applying for a head coaching job in Edison. He was asked, what his philosophy was. As he paused, the Athletic Director asked, "How can you follow your philosophy if you do not have one?"

What are you living for each day. Morals are those things we have, that sometimes need to be defined.

Philosophy of the Dalai Lama:
1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
2. When you lose don't lose the lesson.
3. Follow the 3R's: Respect for self, respect for others, responsibility for all your actions.
4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.

Become Unstoppable

A year from now you are going to wish that you started today?

A year ago today she was tired of settling for the life that she had. A year ago today she realized that she needed to give birth to more in the future than in the past. A year ago today she realized that where she is going is more important than where she has been. A year ago today her life began.

A year ago today she woke up in intensive care after serious complications during gastric bypass surgery and had a decision to make. Change or die. 93% of people would rather die than change. All she wanted to do was give in, give up, and move on. But the whispers of her will would not allow it.

Today she has lost 120 lbs. and continues to go to the gym 6 days a week. Today is the day that Lisa Sargese has given birth to her new life. She has become an inspiration to so many and continues to touch the lives of others with this incredible story.

Change or die. Don't wait to make that decision. What will you start today that you will celebrate on August 16 2008. Lisa blogs about here amazing story every single day without fail.

Manage your emotions before they manage you

What does this mean? There are positive emotions and negative emotions. Which type of emotions do you allow to control your life?

How much of your time, do you allow to be wasted on being angry, hurt, offended, bitter, resentful or feeling sorry for yourself for the way others have treated you? What you give attention to will ultimately control you. The biggest challenge of life might be to just let it go.

Have you ever looked for someone to offend you. You're saying, "Now why would you look for that?" Answer: So you can show them that their opinions are none of your business.

The Power of Shaking off

Do you have any room in your life for issues that are out of your control?

A duck must groom their 11,500 feathers to preserve them for 6 months in order to Shake it Off. Ducks and other birds "preen," or comb, their feathers to keep them clean, neat and well-oiled. Ducks have an oil gland on their back at the base of the upper tail feathers. The oil waterproofs the feathers for the shake off.

Ducks prepare themselves by grooming their feathers, so every single time water hits their back they just Shake it Off. What do you do to prepare yourself for the everyday criticisms. Can you just Shake it Off. So someone cuts you off, Shake it Off. Someone speaks down to you, Shake it Off. The day didn't go how you planned it. Question? When does it? Life is all about Shaking it Off. Less you shake off=more power you give to others= the heavier your back becomes.

The quicker you can Shake it Off, the greater success you can have.

Your life is to valuable to allow other people's opinions to rule over you.

"What a humans mind can create a humans mind can control."

No matter what, make a difference

A special Hello to The Inspiring Lisa Sargese. Right now she breathes Determination. Find out how. Go to her Website- http://theskinnyonline.blogspot.com/

She cared for the poor and the unwanted. She created over 450 centers throughout the world from Calcutta to New York to Albania. She was one of the pioneers of establishing homes for AIDS victims. For more than 45 years, from all around the world, Mother Teresa comforted the poor, the dying, and the unwanted. A true Saint from the day she was born.

Mother Teresa is an inspiration to us all. Can we just take 1% of the difference that she has made in this world, and can we be that difference in some one's life. No matter what anyone says, do what is right anyway. Ask yourself, "Do I respond to others with respect and kindness regardless of how they treat me or do I allow the way others treat me to have control over how I respond?"

Mother Teresa's Anyway Poem
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

Success Loves Speed

Sometimes in life things are just as simple as 2+2=4. Some say, "Yea easy for you to say." But you must think it in order to do it. So let me give you one of the easiest formulas for Success.

Ideas + Massive Action = Success

Ideas + Delayed Action= Possible Success

“Success loves speed. The shorter the duration between the time you get an idea to the time you take massive action toward it the more successful you will be.”

Determination or Frustration

"Some are destined to succeed, some are determined to succeed."
H.H. Swami Tejomayananda

How many people actually Go All out in their quest for success. The secret is to hold on until others let go. Can you hold on a little longer then everyone else. The average person will allow their frustrations to get in the way of their determination. Determination is a mind set that constantly strives on getting to the next level. Life is not how hard you hit, but how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. Go after what you believe. For the only person standing in your way might be you.

Rocky IV
Adrian: It's suicide. You've seen him, you know how strong he is. You can't win.

Rocky: Oh, Adrian. Adrian always tells the truth. No, maybe I can't win. Maybe the only thing I can do is just take everything he's got. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that.

3 things you should do everyday

A special Hello to the Montclair College Student, who stepped out of her comfort zone and inspired her classmates, Shannon Hartman.

He was an inspiring speaker who touched the lives of many. On March 4 1993 he delivered what some would say, as one of the greatest speeches of all time, after being awarded the inaugural Arthur Ashe Courage and Humanitarian Award at the first annual ESPY Awards. Here is a brief summary of that speech:

People say how do you get through life each day. To me there are 3 things we should all do each day. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week your going to have something special.

I just got one last thing, I urge all of you, to enjoy your life, the precious moments you have. To spend each day with some laughter and some thought, to get you're emotions going. To be enthusiastic everyday and as Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Nothing great could ever be accomplished without enthusiasm"-- to keep your dreams alive in spite of problems whatever you have. The ability to work hard for your dreams to come true, to become a reality.

What I would like to do now is spend whatever time I have left and to give some hope to others.

I gotta go but I got one last thing to say. Cancer can take away all my physical ability. It cannot touch my mind; it cannot touch my heart; and it cannot touch my soul. And those three things are going to carry on forever.

I thank you and God bless you all.
~Jimmy Valvano

Jimmy V. died 4 months later.
Colleges across the country raise money for the Jimmy V. Foundation for Cancer. The motto is
"Don't give up. Don't ever Give up"

When is winning not enough

Special Hello to the Inspiring, Coach McCarthy.

California Highs School Playoff Football Game
Bloomington was leading the football game 24-17 over La Quinta with the ball only 3 yards from a touchdown. If Bloomington just downed the ball, the clock would have run out. But getting greedy, Bloomington ran the ball in the endzone, giving Bloomington a 30-17 lead after failing at a 2 point conversion? (Bloomington was trying to get all the points they can when all they had to do was run out the clock and the game would have been over). At this point senior Thomas Myer from La Quinta was seen sobbing on the sidelines as the game appeared to be his last high school game as a senior.

Then something amazing happened. La Quinta then went 74 yards down the field to score a touchdown with 6 seconds left as La Quinta was still trailing by 6 as the score now was 30-24. La Quinta recovered the kickoff with 2 seconds left. With only one play remaining in the game, the quarterback Ryan Woods of La Quinta threw a 48 yard "Hail Mary" pass (a pass that is thrown high in the air not directed towards anyone) into the endzone. With a plethora of players from both teams jumping up for the ball, The La Quinta Blackhawks actually caught the ball. With the extra point La Quinta went on to win 31-30.

Input in your mind Determines your output in life

A special Hello to Angelica and Christina Constantino, who have inspired today's blog.

There are some people that just bring out the best in you. Do you know why? It's because of what they have put into your mind. The people who are most inspiring are the ones who help you on your journey through life, without telling you how to get there. These people might be spreading compassion, pride, determination? Others may radiate fear, doubt, discouragement. The longer you hang around someone the stronger the influence they have on you. Whatever you put into your brain will eventually come out. The following creed has been given to me by a 3rd and 4th grade girl:

Knowledge in the mind
I'm smart because I always learn something good everyday.

Honesty in the Heart
I'm perfect because I never make mistakes knowingly.

Strength in the body
I like myself because I always take action to make things happen.

Happiness
I'm happy I am me who always chooses to be happy.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success.

Faith or Fear

A Special Happy Birthday to the next Motivational Comedian, Lisa Sargese.

Do you have faith or do you have fear. Some may say, they have both. However, Faith and Fear Cannot exist at the same time. If you have Faith, then what is there to fear. If you have fear than maybe it's time to gain faith. Our thoughts give birth to fear.

Faith is the opposite of Fear.
Faith is the opposite of Uncertainty.
Faith is the opposite of doubt.
Faith is the opposite of Frustration.

For when you have Faith- FFUD Fear, Frustration, Uncertainty, Doubt is nowhere to be found

So ask yourself. Do I have faith or do I have Fear?

"Faith means believing in something when common sense tells you not to."

"Faith is knowledge within the heart beyond the reach of proof."

If you could only give your child 1 gift, What would it be?

Do your children get bored? How do you get your children to want the things that they already have? Well next time a child or anyone says that they are bored, they are saying that they are bored with everything they have. A child means that they are bored of everything that you have provided for them. It could be because they have too much. But too much of what. Do we shower our children with many gifts? Things that they may want at that time, but don't really need. So after awhile it just falls at the waist side and its only a matter of time before they started saying, "I'm bored", again. What does this teach children?

Do children actually get to learn how to deal with things that they cannot have? Do we give our children the gift of what they truly need?:

Enthusiasm- being excited for the life that you gave him/her
(like they were when they were at the age of 5)

Encouragement-going out of their way for someone else
(does your child always have to be the first one in line)

Handling Adversity- disagreeing appropriately, putting others feelings ahead of their own

Character is who you really are. Reputation is who people say you are.
Some say sports builds character. In reality,
Sports Reveals Character.

Buried Treasure

There is something already inside you that you cannot lose. No one can take it from you. As long as you live, regardless of your circumstances, it will always be with you. It is called Passion.

Where is the greatest treasure buried? Its not in the oceans. Its not buried in a cave. Its not winning the lottery.

Its in every cemetery throughout the world. This is where every one's hopes and dreams are buried. Don't die with your dreams still inside you. Whatever you dream you can become. Your Passion will lead you to the life you desire to live.

99% Commited

Learn how to cooperate with others. Must be willing to do the things that others won't do in order to have what others won't get. Why aren't others getting it? Because they are only 99% committed instead of 100% committed. Now you don't have to be obsessed with your goals in life. But can you do a little extra each day. Can you take that extra step to getting where you desire to be.

You must be effortless. That means to take action without that mental distraction. But what is mental distraction? Friends, family members or anyone that would try to keep you where they are because most don't go for it. Surround yourself with those people who have Gone All Out in their quest for success.

Commitment is not a sometime thing it's an all the time thing.

Your presence should impact others

A very Special Happy Birthday, to a Mom that has given everything she has to make a better life for her family, Nancy Ventre.

She was a 3rd grade student. She wasn't the most athletic girl in the school. She wasn't one of the smartest girls in the school. She wasn't one of the best students in the school. But she had it. There was something about her that the teachers always talked about. She had this glow about her that attracted others to her.

Well it was Friday in art class and the teacher decided to let the children draw anything they wanted today. As the teacher went around the room, she asked each child what they were going to draw. Responses were: my house, my best friend, my family, my dog.

Then the teacher approached that little girl and asked her what she was going to draw today. That little girl said, "I'm going to draw a picture of God." The teacher respondedwith confusion, "Oh sweetheart. You can't draw a picture of God." The little girl responded, "Why not." Teacher said, "Well you see sweetie. No one knows what God looks like." With all the confidence in the world, that little 3rd grade girl responded, "Oh they will when I get done with it."

"When we stop dreaming, we loose the excitement of possibilities."
