Randy Pausch dies at 47

Randy Pausch was a Professor of Computer Science Carnegie Mellon University. He gave one of the most inspiring speeches of all time just 10 months ago titled, "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams." Before the lecture, Randy was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. Randy died this past Friday at 47 years old.

During his speech Randy spoke of the moments in life is all we have and how every moment is meant to be enjoyed. Randy chose to live in happiness regardless of his end result.

"If people quit giving you feedback and trying to help you change and grow, it's because they have given up on you."~Randy Pausch

Do you practice setting your limits?

"If you don't stretch your limits, you set your limits."

Setting your limits: Do you always do what is comfortable and don't get out of your comfort zone? If you are afraid of what will happen, then nothing will ever happen.

Anything worth while is outside your comfort zone.

Stretching your limits: Going beyond what is expected. What other people think and say about you doesn't matter. You are making the difference you wish to see.

Take back the REMOTE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHANNON
This message is dedicated to an inspiring leader who is changing the lives of young adults, Tyler Coston.

How many of us give others the remote control to our emotions? Maybe it's a little brother or sister, or that one person who knows which buttons to push. Take back the remote control! When we give others power over our emotions, then we tend to blame others for how we choose to react.

"You are not what people call you. You are what you answer to."

You can't control it

What can't you control?:
Other people's words
Other people's actions
Other people's driving skills
The Weather

How many of us allow the "Uncontrollables" of life, to take up space in our mind?

"If you can't control it, then let go of it."

Tiny Frogs

Special Happy 4th of July to all serving in the armed forces thorughout the world.
There was a bunch of tiny frogs racing up a tower. No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. You heard statements such as: 'Oh, WAY too difficult!!' 'They will NEVER make it to the top. Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!' The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one.... Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher....The crowd continued to yell, 'It is too difficult! No one will make it!'

All the tiny frogs were tired and gave up. Except one, that continued higher and higher and higher.... This one wouldn't give up! After a big effort, this tiny frog was the only one who reached the top! THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it? A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal? But there was no response because this tiny frog was deaf.

Most people will try and stop you from going after your dreams because they have given up on theirs. Most people don't see what is possible, they only see what might not be. Words are Powerful because everything you hear may effect your actions. Silence the voices on the outside by following the voice on the inside.

"Imagine what we could accomplish if we acted like it were impossible to fail."

Offended People give others control

Once you get offended, you are putting other people in charge of your emotions.

Q-TIP: Quit Taking It Personally

If others want to offend you then let them try. The journey you are on is too exciting to let others steer you off course.

"If you don't get offended, then you'll never have to forgive."
