LIVE IT BEFORE YOU LEAVE IT

Dedicated to a man who is loved by many, Vito Spino.

"It's do or die. It's now or never. There is no tomorrow."
Why don't some people live the life that they want?

Why aren't some people totally into their own life?
You don't have to be in the celebrity world to live a celebrity life.
You are important to many people. The sad thing is most people don't realize it until it is too late. Everyday you have an opportunity to add value to others. Today is your day.

Unless you know something that I don't know, THIS IS IT! This is YOUR OSCARS, YOUR SUPERBOWL, YOUR WORLD SERIES. If you live to be 72 years old enjoy EVERY SINGLE DAY of those 27,000 days. Yes it is true. The average person only lives between 27,000 and 28,000 days.
Everyday you have an opportunity to make a memory. What memories are you making for the people around you?

"Don't count the days. Make the days count." ~Ed Agresta

Happiness Not Included!

It is sad to say but some people rely on their circumstances and their events to determine their happiness.

It is not the event that will make you happy. It is not losing a game. It is not going to the beach. It is not going to Great Adventure. It is not getting a new job.

Happiness is not included in any of the events that happen in your life.
Happiness is only determined by YOUR ATTITUDE!

"Does your day determine your attitude? Or does your attitude determine your day."

Quote of the month: "Give up the me to acquire the we."

The 5 Words that Paralyze Performance

WWOPT:
What Will Other People Think.

If you want to be cool, care about what others think.
If you want to be embarrassed, care about what others think.
If you want to be controlled by peer pressure, care about what others think.
If you don't dance or sing in front of others it may be because you care about what others think.

How many times a day does WWOPT run through your mind? At the store? At work? At school? Does everything you do fit in with what other people think?

Are you being who you are? Or are you being who everyone else expects you to be.

Someone once said, "I don't like you." The person answered, "Your opinion of me is none of my business."

"Be who you are. No one else is qualified."

Quote of the month: "Give up the me to acquire the we."

What Are You Infecting Your Brain With?

What you constantly see,
What you constantly hear,
You will eventually do.

Are you a product of your environment?

Do You Play the Blame Game?

Do you see behavior? Or, do you see potential? Do you look to find fault in other people's behavior? If your answer is, "No," then why point it out?

Ever notice what you look for, you will find. "Energy flows where attention goes." Stop looking for what you don't want to see. How many times a day do you uncover someones weakness? Some people uncover it in their daily driving commute.

Why do we judge others based on their behavior and then judge ourselves based on who we can become?
To be continued...
Find out tomorrow how what we see in others is vital to our self-confidence.

"If we don't want others to point out our mistakes, then why do we constantly point out theirs?"

Quote of the month: "Give up the me to acquire the we."

Give Up The Argument

"I can't do that. I am not strong enough. I am not that smart. I can't speak in front of others. Let me do it my way, it is the way I have always done it. Don't try and change me."

"When you argue for your limitations; all you get are limitations." ~Wayne Dyer

An Amazing Quality. Do You Express It?

"Enthusiasm moves the world." ~Arthur James Balfour
"I'm boring. I'm mediocre. I'm just ordinary."

How much of your expressions throughout the day convey excitement? Or, are you just trying to fit in with the atmosphere and put feelings ahead of actions? EnthusIAMS= I Am Sold Myself.

Are you enthusiastic about your life? Then show it! It is sad to say but some people want to share what they have but aren't even excited for it. In which case, keep what you have. If you're not excited for the life you have, Why should anyone else be?

"Enthusiasm releases the drive to carry you over obstacles and adds significance to all you do."
~Norman Vincent Peale

Do You Have a System for Success?

Do you have a system for handling things when they don't go your way? Or do you just get upset? Do you have a strong belief in who you are? Or do you allow other people's opinions to offend you?

Some people don't even think about it. They just continue to react to their daily events.
Are you preparing yourself for the future? Or do you spend most of your life getting pushed around by the present?

There is a success system for acquiring anything that you want: self esteem, self confidence, better shape, less stress, bounce back ability, etc...
"Success doesn't go to you. You go to it." ~Marva Collins

Are You the Difference Maker?

A special hello to one of the most enthusiastic students at Montclair State, Matt B.
"I will not live a selfish self centered life. Not one more day. I will find somebody today that needs to be encouraged. Someone that needs a hug. Someone that needs a few dollars. Someone that needs me to smile at them. I will find someone somewhere that I can help because I will not live a selfish life, NOT ONE MORE DAY!" ~Joyce Meyer

Are you declaring war on your selfishness? Or are your mornings still starting out with the word "I"? "I am tired. I am hungry. I don't want to get up." Stop allowing your wants and feelings to interfere with the positive interruption you could be in someone else's life!

Stop saying, "What about me." And start saying, "What about we."
"Will you be the difference in someones tomorrow."

Quote of the month: "Give up the me to acquire the we."

The Stress Solution

We are suppose to have stress. The most stressful thing we can do is to try and get rid of all the stress in our life because that would just stress us out.

Remember: "Happiness is not the absence of conflict. It is the ability to cope with it."

E+R=O Event+Response=Outcome

It is not the days events that stress you out. It is your response to it. Many people blame everything else in their life for how they feel. Stop allowing life to push you around. Are you ready to respond in a pro-active manner when spontaneous happenings arise? Or, are you stuck being surprised by unplanned daily events?

The outcome of your day is not tied to your days events. It is tied to your response to it.

"Stop allowing the day to determine your attitude and start allowing your attitude to determine your day."

Quote of the month: "Give up the me to acquire the we."

Do You?

"I want to increase my self-confidence."
Do you?
"I want to be in better shape."
Do you?
"I don't want to worry so much."
You don't?

Do your actions in life meet the aspirations that you have for yourself? If they don't then that may be why your hidden potential stays hidden.

Increasing self-confidence= Stop focusing on others faults, and concentrate on their strengths. What you look for in others you find in yourself.

Getting in better shape= Don't wait until you feel like it to get started. "A year from now you are going to wish you have started today."

Stop worrying= The antidote to worry is trust. Learning how to trust is giving up what you can't control. Worry is worthless. Trust and worry cannot exist. "If you can't control it, then let go of it."

When you don't take action to meet your aspirations then you are just hoping to get there.
Don't base your life on hope. It is ok to have hope, but some people live their whole life in it.

TAKE ACTION!
"A.C.E.=Action Changes Everything."

Quote of the month: "Give up the me to acquire the we."

Some People are F.A.T.

F.A.T.= Feel-Act-Think
They feel a certain way; then they act how they feel and then think about how they acted.

"I don't want to do that. I don't feel like it."
WHO CARES!

Most people spend their whole day satisfying their comfort by catering to their wants and feelings. How many times has your feelings hindered productivity?

"Don't act how you feel. Feel how you act."

Don't Mistake Activity for Attention

How much time do we spend engaging our children in activities? It is important for them to be active. But activity is not a replacement for attention.

What are your children or people in your family inheriting after you pass on. When it comes to children, some people spend too much time trying to leave something for them. It is more important to leave something in them.

When we leave something in them, that means we invest and make deposits in their lives. What are our children missing, confidence, adaptability, kindness, forgiveness? Are they holding grudges? Do they use the phrase, "I don't like?" If they do, they may have trained their brain to see the faults in this world= fault finders. When this happens they may focus on seeing the faults in themselves= low self confidence.

What seeds are we planting in them that we wish to see them grow into?

"If we aren't planting seeds then chances are they are growning weeds."

Quote of the month: "Give up the me to acquire the we."

I Want To Be Successful

Do you? What we want and what we do are two different things. Are our actions speaking these words or contradicting them?

"There is only one way to succeed at anything, and that is to give it everything." ~Vince Lombardi

Are You Living in Fear?

How often have you thought of something and found out it wasn't true?

Ever think you bombed a test and the next day you discovered you received a better grade than you thought? Ever shoot a shot in a game (pool, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer) and think that you missed but the ball or puck went in? Ever think you were in a horrible situation and then realize it wasn't as bad as you thought.

WHY?
Because you might be living in F.E.A.R.

"False Expectations Appearing Rule."

Quote of the month: "When we give up me, there is a chance for we."

The Illusion of Life

What would you attempt if you knew you wouldn't fail?

"Fear is an illusion. You think something is standing in your way, but nothing is really there." ~Michael Jordan
