What is Your Perception On Life?

Over the Thanksgiving weekend of 2009 John Wooden's interview was aired on ESPN. During this interview (John was 99 years old) he was asked about his wife Nellie who he met when he was 14 years old. You see his first love was his last love. She died on March 21, 1985. Since then he wrote her a love letter on the 21st of every month for 24 years. When asked if he was afraid of death, his answer was:

"Once I was afraid of dying.
Terrified of ever lying.
Petrified of leaving family home and friends.

Thoughts of absence from my dear ones,
brought a melancholy tear once,
and a dreadful fear of when life ends.

But those days are long behind me.
Fear of leaving does not bind me
and departure does not hold a single care.

Peace does comfort as I ponder
a reunion in the yonder
with my dearest one who is waiting for me there."

"It's the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen." ~John Wooden

Quote of the month: "To accomplish your dreams we must go to extremes."
