When someone asks you, "How are you doing?" They are not giving you a license to complain and they are not obligated to listen to you wallow in self pity. Most people just assume that the other person will allow them to complain to them. Don't let this be you!
If you interact with someone who constantly complains, sometimes you may have to just say, "I have to go take care of something right now." You may say, "But Darren isn't that lying." No, your are not lying. You have to go take care of something and that is "Yourself." People, inadvertently will spend most of the day trying to bring you down with everyday issues. Don't allow others to poison you with problems. A problem is just an opportunity waiting to happen, (but their current bitterness will not allow them to see that).
"If you don't do what is good for you, then you're not good for anyone."

What might sound like a complaint or bitterness to you, might not be what the other person was trying to have you view it as. Sometimes people need to get thing off their chest, to release pent up anger, frustrations, sadness etc. They sometimes are just reaching out to someone, anyone, an ear, a shoulder a second opinion, a view from the other side. Everyone needs someone. You make it seem as if everyone should go through life alone. Selfish, no?
I came across your blog a while ago. I read it every now and then..I must ask, do you practice what you preach? Do you live alone? Are you married, involved or have anyone significant in your life? Because I'm wondering how your other half handles your every man for himself attitude. It seems cold and uncaring. Do you turn people around or away if they don't live the way you do? Who is to say your solution based on the observance of human actions is the right solution. What makes you feel that you are a "sort of" authority on the solution of living a life filled with happiness. At the end of the day it comes down to accomplishing something that you can be proud of. Whether its making an extra buck or giving your time to someone even though they do nothing for you in return.
Very interesting. Thanks for the information that others can learn from. Do you have any inspirational stories?
