Q-TIP

Do you look to get offended? Or do you look for opportunities to build your mental toughness? That all depends on your reaction to other people's opinions.

What Are You Magnifying?

Just for today will you magnify your blessings? Or will you magnify your troubles?

Who Determines Your Actions?

Has anyone ever said to you, "Well if I were you..." Guess what? Your not me!

Do other peoples words determine decisions that you make? Do other peoples opinions determine what you want? Do your friends or family speak to you in a controlling way, or do their words inspire you?

Some think that controlling is always caring. Inspiration shows care. When people in our life try to control what we do, we must ask ourselves, "What have I done that makes this person think I will allow them to control my actions."

Sometimes when we just want peace with people, we are enabling them to control us. Are you living for you? Or are your actions fitting in with what others want you to do?

Someone once said, "Your opinion of me is not of my business."

What is on your Christmas list today?

Is it:
Self confidence
Will power
Enthusiasm
Bounce back ability

The secret is that no one can give you these gifts. Why? Because everything we have is already inside us. All our fun feelings and negative feelings all live within us. Life is all about which ones we choose to tap into. Most people will wait until they feel a certain way before they act that way. But not you. You know the secret. Force yourself to act differently than you feel. Once you put your motions into action your emotions will follow. Every single time.

"Thoughts determine what you want. Actions determine what you get."

What Gifts Are You Giving?

Millions of dollars will be spent tomorrow to try and give something that many search their whole lives trying to find, happiness. Sounds crazy. But for many, tomorrow will be a day that we spend buying gifts for children that we think will make them happy.

"I WANT MORE." But you have so much from last Christmas. "BUT I WANT MORE." But you have more than most children in this world. "BUT I WANT MORE."

The greatest gift is the ability that lies inside us to be the difference in the world. There isn't any exchanges for that gift. What do you have to give to the world? Will the world be better off after you leave it, or will the world be a better place because you came through it? Are we raising children to be that difference, or do we just conitue to fill their selfish needs? The world needs what they have. But if we teach them that it is all about "ME" then they may never see the "WE," and that makes all the difference in the world.

"We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give."

Are You a Garbage Collector?

Did you have an overreaction? Do you know why? Maybe because you are part of the garbage truck family.
While riding in a taxi in the right lane, a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital." This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, "The Law of the Garbage Truck."

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they look for a place to dump it. If you let them they'll dump it on you.

Behavior vs Potential

Do we have commitment based conversations? That is when we speak to people about what they can do.

Or do we have behavior based conversations? We constantly point out what they didn't do and should do and ignore what they are capable of.

Why do we judge others by their actions but then judge ourselves by what we can become?

Whenever we point at someone else there are 3 fingers pointing back at us. Don't be a fault finder, be a hope finder. We have enough bitter people in this world. After people interact with you, do you leave them feeling bitter or better?

Step It Up!

The results that we want are ultimately a matter of our desire. In order to have amazing tomorrows we must never give up on ourselves today.

"Remember this your life time through,
tomorrow there will be more to do.
Failure waits for all who stay,
with some success made yesterday.
Tomorrow you must try once more,
and even harder than before." ~John Wooden

The 5 Words That Destroy Success

"I don't feel like it."

Are you committed to your commitment? Or, are you committed to your feelings? Everyday there is a war going on inside us between our commitment and our feelings. Which one wins?

Do not allow your feelings to get in the way of your commitment. Successful people know the secret. Feel is not real. Change your feelings by changing your actions. Most people wait for their circumstances to change. NOT YOU! Take action!

Once you put your body in motion, your emotions will follow.

"The pain is temporary but the pride is forever."

Happiness? But How?

A niece speaks to her aunt, who always seems to be bitter about life. This aunt has allowed many people to steal her joy day after day and year after year.

"I noticed that when you don't feel good you pick on me. And when you pick on me we fight. I am not interested in fighting. I cannot fulfill the unhappiness that you have inside you." The aunt had no response.

It is not the event, the cars, the money, the tests, other people, etc... that determines your happiness.

Happiness is not from the outside in, it is from the inside out.

"Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means that you look beyond the imperfections." ~Unknown

Well That's How I Feel

"Why would you say that! You hurt my feelings." How much of our life is spent allowing others to have the remote control to our emotions?

Our feelings are not determined by what others have said. Our feelings are a result of all we have chose to focus on. Stop reliving hurtful moments. Some people choose to focus on what we don't want to see repeated.

"You choose your thoughts, your thoughts don't choose you."

I Am The Greatest

A special hello to a great motivational speaker, The Cuban Guy.
"You can't do that. You're not smart enough. You'll never finish school. You're not good enough." Lies, lies, lies. Even though we know it is a lie, the problem is, the more we hear it, the more we believe it.

"What you constantly say; what you constantly hear; you will eventually believe." ~Mano Watsa

"I am the greatest!" Throughout his whole career Muhammad Ali could be heard telling everyone how great he was. The question is who was he trying to convince? His mother? His fans? His friends? NO! HE WAS CONVINCING HIMSELF.

"You are not what people call you. You are what you answer to."

To this day Muhammad Ali was The Greatest boxer of all time.
