How do they deal with adversity? Do they complain about little insignificant things throughout the day that won't matter tomorrow?
Who are these people?
Answer: They may be some of the people in your life
Don't allow others to poison your possibilities. If you want to know who you really are or the person you will become then take a look at the people around you. These people have an enormous influence in your life. Do these people help you overcome your daily fears of (public speaking, other's opinions, etc...) do they encourage you, do they help you get over a difficult time or do they help you wallow in self pity?
It is ok to be friends with everyone. But just have an understanding that those people you hang around with the most will have the biggest effect in your life regardless if it is positive or negative.
If you want to make a change in your life, find those people who already have made changes in their lives. Get yourself in an atmosphere that is inspiring and motivating. How? By surrounding yourself with those who are.
“We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere."
Quote of the month: "Fear is an illusion; you think something is standing in your way but nothing is really there." ~Michael Jordan

5 words that keep us from being unstoppable
"I don't feel like it."
Do you think a doctor feels like working on every single patient? Does your dentist feel like working on every single tooth? Does a Mother feel like getting up at 3 a.m. to take care of her new born? Imagine if you went to the hospital and a doctor acted on their "I don't feel like it" emotions.
You don't have to feel like it in order to do it. If you wait around to get motivated to do it, you will probably wait forever. Most of the time you will not feel like working out, or writing that 10 page paper. Once you start it, you will start to feel it.
Once you get into motion, your emotions will follow.
"A professional is someone who does their best when they feel like it the least."

Who are You?
Are you what you think? Are you what you do? Are you what your history is? We are all products of our environment. Are we living to be that person that we desire to be?
Don't let the choices of the past decide what you will be tomorrow. Make your own choice today.
"There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them." ~Denis Waitley
Quote of the month: "Happiness is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to cope with it."

And what are we complaining about?
W. Mitchell Part 1 of 2
He is called, "The Man who will Not be Defeated".
About 33 years ago, W. Mitchell lived for riding his Harley Davidson between working as a cable operator and going to school. He loved the refreshing wind blowing on his face as it was the most relaxing part of his life. Until:
Mitchell was crossing an intersection and a huge truck ran a red light and slammed into him. As he laid there in agony, he smelled gas and suddenly realized that he was covered with it. The truck then exploded and the bike went up in flames as the fire engulfed Mitchell. He was a human torch.
But some how, he survived.
He lost his fingers and toes and was left with no resemblance of his former self. After going through months of agonizing surgery and rehabilitation, he made a decision, "I WILL NOT GIVE UP!"
Years later he started his own business and was very successful. His setback became a setup for a come back. He made so much money, he purchased a private plane. He flies his plane as it is now one of his loves in life.
Sometimes life isn't as bad as we make it out to be.
W. Mitchell lives by this quote, "You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control what you do about it."

Got Values?
You don't have to agree with the Dalai Lama's philosophy of life. But do you understand what values you choose to live by? Do you like those values? Sometimes we need to see those values before we can change them.
The Dalai Lama's philosophy of life (continued):
16. Be gentle with the earth.
17. Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
18. Remember that the best relationship is one, in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
19. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
20. Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.
"Show me a man who cannot bother with the little things and I'll show you a man who cannot be trusted with the big things."
~Lawrence Bell

On the day you are called by God
The first question God may ask you is:
God won't ask what neighborhood you lived in. He'll ask how you treated your neighbors.

It's not personal
If someone offends you, it's not personal. It's just a challenge to your personality. If you respond by becoming bitter and hostile towards them, than aren't you just like them? Sometimes we feel that if someone hurts us then we are allowed to hurt them. People who have that type of personality seem to be always looking for an argument. Will you provide that negative environment for them or will you be the kind of positive interruption in their life that you would wish to have in yours?
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

Stress keeps you from your Best
The Main Rule of Relaxation:
It's not what's happening around you. It's not what's happening to you.
IT'S WHAT'S HAPPENING INSIDE YOU.
Did you know that the world's greatest tranquilizers are already inside you?
Example:
What causes Stress?
Answer: FFUD- Fear Frustration Uncertainty Doubt.
What causes these symptoms?
Answer: Our Thoughts. Your thoughts will decide how you handle adversity. Your thoughts will keep you going or it will keep you right where you are.
"Guilt is in the past. Anxiety is in the future. The Power is in the PRESENT."
~Dr. Rob Gilbert

Let's get over it and on with it!
"I never get any breaks. I never win anything. It'll never happen for me. You don't know my luck."
To those who think this way, I say you're right.
It is never going to happen for you.
IT ONLY HAPPENS FOR BELIEVERS!
"If you don't control your mind, your mind will control you."

Interfering
Special Happy Birthday to a Great Inspirer, Anthony Ventre.
Did you know that it is ok to interfere in others lives? But how do you do it? "If I was you I wouldn't do that. I would do it this way." Have you ever said that to someone, or has someone said that to you. Whenever you get bothered by the way others do things, then it might be time to give up control. Sometimes we might give advice to someone and they don't take our advice. If that bothers you, it's because they aren't doing what "WE WANT THEM TO." That is called CONTROL. In order to loosen up we must give it up.
Understand that we are not in control of anyone Else's life. We are only in control of how we respond to the things they say or do.
Are you a Positive Interference in someones life?
When someone make a decision that you don't agree with, you can either get bitter or better.
Bitter= "Why do they have to do it that way. Why can't they ever listen to me." This person loves to give their negative view of it, when no one asked for it.
-Negative Interference
Better= "I don't' have to agree with what others do. My respect for their decision is more important then my own ulterior motives. I'm here for them in whatever decision that they make." -Positive Interference
It's ok to give your opinion on something in a respectful manner. Ask yourself, "Am I just venting how I feel or am I trying to be helpful."

My Own Obstacle May Be Attitude

Quote of the month: "A winner is a dreamer who just won't quit."

Are you just a product of your environment? Say NO!
Do you influence others? Or do you let others influence you? When you walk into a room only 2 things happen.
Thermometer - a thermometer adjusts to the temperature in the room. So if there is low energy in the room, you will have low energy. If the room has a negative atmosphere, you become a product of your environment.
Thermostat - makes their own temperature. No matter what the mood in the room, you bring energy and excitement. You adjust your internal temperature to what you want it to be. It is up to you.
You can allow others to dictate your mood. You can live for yourself and be who you want to be regardless of others' perceptions.
A person once asked someone, "What is your goal in life?"
The answer was, "To be a positive interruption to a downward spiral."
